These Kohler KDT, KMT, KDP, and KMP transfer switches sit between the utility and generator, usually in plant rooms, hospitals, data centers, and commercial buildings, making sure power flips over cleanly when the grid drops. This service manual is what I use to trace control issues, verify the switching sequence, and confirm a bad component before I order parts. If, for example, the switch won’t transfer back to utility after the generator cools down, this document walks me through the logic checks and mechanical inspections so I don’t just throw a new controller at it.
